Which way is up?

time && hope = misery

I came to this conclusion tonight.
Without time, there is no way to figure out how long ago something occurred or how far away something you're looking forward to is. There is no lengthy batch of misery devoted to how long ago you felt happy and there's no prospective sadness/crazy wishing of when you'll see happiness again.
Without hope, you'd never crash and burn half as painful as with it.
Hope is just bringing me failure after failure recently. Killing any positivity I have left and replacing it with the cynical contempt I have for anything in my future. If there is one.
I can't even tell anymore. Genuinely.
